This work aims at establishing a relationship between the Theories developed by the School of the reception of Constance and Hypertext Literary theories. More specifically, it explores the theory of aesthetic response of Wolfgang Iser, and his concept of reading as a process of construction of the text by the reader. In this regard we make explicit the concepts of "repertoire", which explains Iser equivalent to the concept of extra-textual context, elaborated by the Prague Linguistic Circle, and of "strategies" that constitute the repertoire, establishing a close relationship with the Gestalt theories of perception (especially the relationship schema/correction and background/foreground). The essay, then, focuses attention on the contemporary critical theories concerning the literary hypertext, developed by Ted H. Nelson, George P. Landow and Jay D. Bolter, highlighting its main characteristics given by the multi-sequence, the active relationship that hypertext establishes with its reader, and finally by the modular structure of hypertext, which is reconfigured for each act of reading. The study focuses primarily on the text of Pinocchio, in its Spanish and Italian edition, which is analyzed in the light of the concepts of "repertoire", "schema/correction" and "background / foreground". The survey concludes with a further construction of the hypertext platform of Pinocchio, highlighting the literary links that it can determine not only with European and American literature of the nineteenth century, but also with other literary topoi, for example related to the "birth" and "death" of puppet, content and other works of fiction. The conclusion of the work tends to emphasize how the theories on textual reception anticipate and confirm what theorists have also developed on hypertext: the literary texts require a "hypertextual reading", because as the hypertext they propose a series of postponements out of the text, that are, to other texts and documents of various kinds, and movements within the text itself, causing the multilinear character, or multisequential of the text.
