JOVENS E VALORES: UM ESTUDO REALIZADO EM COLÉGIO BILÍNGUE DE SÃO PAULO

This descriptive exploratory research, based on the constructive theory, was held in a private bilingual school in the city of São Paulo and had the following objectives: to verify the value given to life by the teenagers socially, affectively and personally; analyze their changes throughout the high school period; verify if there is an equity in the set of values among the different existing curriculums of the school (paying brazilians, non-paying Brazilians and paying bilingual germans). The sample consisted of 72 students between 14 and 18 years old attending the first and the third years of the high school in the mentioned school. The method used for including students in the research was the random drawing based equiprobable numbers table. Based on the results, it is possible to affirm that, in general terms, the researched student recognizes the relevance of certain social agents, even though he doubts the credibility of the institutions responsible for giving them legitimacy; values the moral aspect and the justice in a world that, to him, is considered unfair and threatening; is optimistic about the future and includes others to his life project; despite the fear of being treated unfairly, considers life worth living or love more important than being treated fairly.
