Abstract

The goal of this article is to study in what contexts video media has been used in the mathematics teachers Education in Brazil. We thus present the results of an interpretative analysis of works that approach the theme "video media and mathematics teachers education" based on a survey of essays and theses (200-2014) of the CAPES Theses Bank. We identified four thematic axes, and we have observed that video media, represented by video conference technology is the more recurring in investigations analyzed. We conclude that, in the domestic context, there are very few works focusing on video media and mathematics teachers education, particularly focusing on the use of video as a resource for teachers to rethink their practices. Hence, we consider these issues as fertile ground for research in Brazil.
