THE IMPORTANCE OF ELDER/GRANDPARENTS IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION: STRATEGIES AND SUCCESSFUL INCLUSION EXPERIENCE

This article reflects on the importance of the elderly in the early education process and exposes successful situations. Analyzes issues and theoretical foundations related to the themes of human rights, inclusion and social support. This study is descriptive qualitative and used purposive sample. Field work made use of observation - of ethnographic inspiration and data analysis was done through sociological portraits. The results showed that: the parents were satisfied with the school's initiative; children and the elderly felt happy to be together ; educators extended their understanding about the inclusion of the elderly in the school context and were able to expand its activities . It is believed that this experience has important implications in terms of practice of training of teachers, the work done with families and educational practices developed in pre-school education.
