Abstract

This work aims to reflect about the intentions of the groups of continued training of teachers to promote the development of teacher characteristics considered important by academic research. Based on the assumption that the study groups / discussion of specific topics in physics can have an significant effect and are recommended by the literature, it rests on the propositions of the educator Jose Contreras Domingo on teaching autonomy and it is a systematization of the results of a work in a group of continuous training of teachers of physics which are based on this methodology, in which we succeeded in developing the characteristics of teacher autonomy. It was possible to identify in the teachers participating in this study the characteristics advocated in the adopted theoretical framework and, from the perspective of education for autonomy, relate the results with an overview of the continuing education of teachers of physics, including the proposed model studied, as a reference concerning such formation.
