MORAL EDUCATION AT CONTEMPORARY TIMES: AN ANALYSIS OF PROJECTS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS OF THE STATE OF SÃO PAULO

Nowadays, we identified a frequent complaint from researchers, educators and families that the school has been the scene of violence, indiscipline and disrespect. Thus, we mean to answer the following question: would the Brazilian public schools performing so projects to guide students to live in society in a more harmonious way and based on moral or ethical values? Thus, we performed theoretical review and analysis of 150 questionnaires answered by school agents from public schools of São Paulo. We believe it is the school's role morally educate students and found that school officials indicate that moral education should happen in school, mainly to promote the citizenship of students. However, a lack of training to educators was discovered, considered suitable for this kind of education and in order to achieve the purpose criteria of forming morally autonomous individuals.
