LITERATURE TEACHING: THEORETICAL CONSIDERATIONS FROM AN ANALYSIS OF SUPPLEMENT OF TEACHER

This study deals with the literary reading teaching in high school, in view of the results that the country has shown with regard to the quality of education and the need for reassessment of teaching methods of literature. In this sense, the study aims to investigate how the Teacher Supplement to the textbook adopted in the municipality of Ivaiporã / PR in the 2010-2013 period, contributes to the improvement of literature teaching practice. The research is characterized as qualitative-interpretive, with socio-historical dimension approach. As a process of obtaining the data, there was an analysis of Professor Supplement Portuguese book used in the 1st year of high school. It was concluded that the book in question does not promote a more specialized knowledge of literary theory, nor provides educational alternatives that can motivate students to read and understand literature as a cultural phenomenon, historical and social.
