Abstract

The paper discusses curricular training as an opportunity to investigate the socialization of teaching practice through research on the socialization among Education undergraduates of a public institution of higher education in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul and elementary school teachers. We started from the problem of coping with the formation of the students as learners along their family, school and social life, during which they acquired ways of thinking and appreciating the teaching practice, in view of what they experience at the curricular training. The text presents the theoretical and methodological trajectory, an analytical exercise in the construction of the concept of socialization from the perspective of sociology of education. The data were collected by means of a questionnaire to characterize the subjects, observation sessions during the training of four students and the classroom teachers, recorded orientation meetings at the University, daily records, and interviews. The analysis showed how trajectories may mark people's lives, reflecting ways of thinking and acting from these experiences, leading to differences in socialization, although with some regularity, arising from social and personal characteristics. Thus, ideas and information on teaching provided by teachers to future educators have triggered several different reactions.
