O ESPAÇO DA ESCOLA COMO LOCAL DE TRANSFORMAÇÃO PESSOAL E PROFISSIONAL DE DOCENTES

This article refers to a research hold in two schools from the municipal public system in a city in the North of the state of Santa Catarina. The goal was checking the senses and meanings of teachers about the scholastic spaces in institutions of Junior High School, in urban and rural contexts and its potential relative to personal and professional transformation. In order to realize connections that exist between physical and subjective space constituted in relational aspects, qualitative research was chosen performed through semi-structured interviews and field observation. The interviews were done with the principal, teachers, and students from Junior High School from both schools. In the total, two principals, four teachers and twenty students were interviewed. This article presents some reflections from the analysis of the interviews done with the teachers. The teachers report inclines to recognition of school as a space of personal, professional and social growth and promotion.
