A FORMAÇÃO CONTINUADA NA REDE MUNICIPAL DE ENSINO DE CORUMBÁ/MS: LIMITES E PERSPECTIVAS

The paper presents some data concerning the research work conducted on continuous teacher formation, according to the teachers' viewpoint. What courses are offered to municipal school teachers in Corumba? What do teachers think about the importance of such courses? Starting with these initial questions, the study aimed to get to know the vision of teachers who work from the 1st to the 5th year of elementary school, on the contribution of the continuous education courses offered by the Executive Secretary of Education (SEED) in Corumba, MS, from 2008 to 2010. The methodology adopted was based on a review of studies on the theme and a survey of documents about the continuous education courses offered in the period, in order to identify both the courses and the participants. Based on the information, we selected six teachers who answered the questionnaire, which included both closed and open questions. The data were organized in charts and were analyzed based on the discussion of the authors who address the subject investigated. The analysis indicated a depletion of continuous education courses, mainly because of technical rationality, with a format that ignores the profile, the formation needs and the cultural situation of the teachers, as well as the reality of each school, as polarized meetings are organized. We hope to contribute to the discussion on the continuous education of teachers focused on contextualized, dynamic, critical and collective actions.
