This paper discusses theoretical / methodological issues concerning the evaluation of Visual Arts in schools investigating initially threads that link trends that characterize this discussion, attempt to investigate and understand more deeply what the meanings of evaluation action Teacher in Art compared to the initial series of elementary school students. After the official documents that bring the guidelines for Teaching Visual Arts having as deepening the questions raised regarding the evaluation will be analyzed. Finally, the text points out ways to contribute and expand on the subject tissues from the use of the portfolio as an evaluative possibility of artistic processes experienced in the classroom.
